Everything began in 1995 when Norbert Mc Mullen, a professor and researcher, started developing oral films as part of his company, PharmaDev. Along with his 14-year-old daughter Karine, he conducted thousands of hours of research in the family basement. This is where they created the first prototypes together.
In 2006, he relocated his activities to a small facility in Saint-Hyacinthe, dedicated to research and development. This is when ODF Technologies was born. The company continued to grow through the active involvement of the Mc Mullen family. Karine held the position of Research and Development Laboratory Technician.
Norbert, his wife Nicole, and Karine played major roles in the evolution of ODF Technologies toward ODF Pharma in 2010. That year marks the inauguration of both a manufacturing facility and a research and development laboratory. Karine held various strategic positions, preparing her to take over the business.
In 2018, Norbert Mc Mullen decided to hand over the reins to his daughter. Karine then founded ODF Nutra. The company, specialized in the development, manufacturing, packaging, and commercialization of orosoluble films, saw unprecedented growth.
Since its founding in 2018, ODF Nutra has secured a leading position in the Canadian market. In 2021, the company signed a contract with Sanofi, a leader in the global pharmaceutical industry. This partnership provided her with the opportunity to expand her operations, mainly to the US and France. The same year, new investors and shareholders joined the team.
